Some of my readers may recall hearing of a young ladies' homemaking club called Keepers at Home. Some of the local girls and I are involved in it, and we chose to work on a sewing badge. To complete the badge we were required to make an article of clothing for ourselves. We chose to make a skirt. Although we had no pattern, we traced an old one and produced some very modest long skirts. We completed the badge successfully.
A week or so later, we decided to go to Sturbridge Village with some of the same girls for Homeschool Day. We decided to wear our handmade skirts, considering them to be "old-fashioned" enough!
And now, almost a year later, we are involved in a homeschool program called the International Dinner. Everyone picks a country, and you prepare a display about it. You are also urged to "dress the part" by wearing that country's traditional costume. And so we are going to add a vest and apron, and voila! We look German.
For another picture of us in our skirts, look at the side gadget.

Yes, I know, voila is French, but what do you say in German?
